Yoga and Hiking Retreat

TYPICAL DAILY SCHEDULE

  • 7:30 AM Tea Time
  • 8:00 AM Jala Neti (nasal cleansing).
  • 8:15 AM Yoga class (1.5 hour) with pranayama breathing, meditation, mantra, and mudra). 
  • 10:00 AM Breakfast
  • 11:15 AM Hiking 
  • 1:30 PM Lunch
  • 3:00 PM Sound healing education and practice (2 hours)
  • 5:30 PM Tea Time
  • 6:00 PM Evening Yoga class (a more relaxing class with sound bath).
  • 7:30 PM Dinner
  • 8:00 PM Free time in the evening for relaxation.

Is Niru Yoga Homestay appropriate for Beginners or Advanced Yoga?

We believe yoga is for everyone and aim to provide an inclusive and accepting environment for people of any age, ability, and experience to practice.  Our classes are tailor made by providing variations for every pose.  This way all levels can participate in the same class. 

Do I need to bring my own yoga and hiking equipment?

We will provide yoga mats, blocks, and belts for you to practice comfortably in our center.  For your convenience, we also have extra hiking poles you can borrow if you need.  We do suggest, though, that you bring appropriate shoes for walking (hiking sneakers or boots), a water bottle, rain jacket, and some sunscreen. 

How long are the retreats?

We offer a variety of yoga retreat packages to fit with your travel schedule.  Our individual yoga retreats are for any length (though we suggest at least 2 nights to get the full experience).  Our specialty retreats are set depending on the topic.  Please see the retreat page for more information about the duration. We also offer a new day pass where you can visit and enjoy all we have to offer without staying the night. 

What types of accommodations do you provide?

We provide comfortable rooms with single beds, linens, and ensuite private baths. We offer both private and shared rooms.  If you are coming alone we will usually try to provide you with a private room when available; however you might be assigned a roommate if more guests join during the week.  If you would like to guarantee you have a room to yourself, please book the private room option for the week.

Feels like coming home

You Won’t Get This Experience Anywhere Else
You can not miss Niru homestay. The family treats you as family. We did the 2 day stay. Not only were the meals healthy they were plentiful and so delicious with so much flavor. You are also educated about the food, sleeping habits and so much more. The hiking even with it being rainy season was so beautiful. We were safely guided through the forest, waterfalls temples and so much more. Yoga, breath work, meditation and sound healing were full of information. He is so talented and really gives you so much knowledge. I’ve never had such an in detail session before. Not only are you practicing you are also learning. The family, scenery everything is truly just so amazing. You won’t find a family owned, knowledgeable, detailed packed instructor anywhere else.
